AI EVIDENCE DESK · METHOD NOTE

One checklist for every file, with visible limits

KENYA
CONTROL
04

Automated analysis runs the same checks each time: exact domain and legal entity, licence and regulator scope, published terms, payment path, complaint timeline and recorded response.

SOURCE LOG

Primary records and independent sources keep their publication or access date, publisher and exact finding. Operator material is labelled as its own statement, not independent proof.

EVIDENCE LINE

A documented observation is reported as evidence. A conclusion drawn from it is labelled as inference and stays provisional until another record supports it.

PAID LINE

Paid placement is handled outside the evidence decision. It cannot change the checklist, source choice, signal or conclusion, and commercial routes remain visibly labelled.

CORRECTION LINE

Use the correction contact with the page URL, disputed wording, date and primary record. The desk rechecks the trail and records material amendments.

Start with the thing you can prove

A logo, a familiar trading name or an M-PESA prompt is not enough on its own. A useful check joins the exact domain, the named legal operator, the licence field shown in the current GRA register and the payment record on your own handset. If one part does not match, pause and preserve the evidence.

This is not a “best casino” list. We do not sell operator verdicts; commercial links are labelled and kept separate from evidence findings. The named-brand file is a neutral research backlog, not a verdict.

Choose the problem in front of you

A four-part desk check

  1. Capture. Save the full URL, date, screen, SMS and transaction code without publishing personal data.
  2. Match. Check the trading name and domain against the dated official register rather than a search snippet.
  3. Classify. Decide whether this is an identity issue, a payment record issue, a complaint or immediate safety concern.
  4. Route. Use the authority or payment provider competent for that issue. No route guarantees recovery.

Build a mobile evidence bag

Most Kenyan payment and support exchanges happen on a phone, where evidence is easily cropped, overwritten or mixed with later messages. Create one folder for the incident. Keep an unedited screenshot of the full browser address, the original M-PESA message, a statement view that shows the transaction status, and each reference number issued by the operator, Safaricom or an authority. Name files with dates in year-month-day order so the sequence remains clear.

Write a short chronology separately. Record only what happened: “At 14:10 the page displayed pending” is stronger than “the operator stole the money,” unless an official finding supports the second statement. If you need to share evidence with a competent body, send the minimum requested material. Cover unrelated balances, contacts and transactions. Never place a PIN, password, one-time code or full identity document in a public post.

Phone screen

Capture the address bar, sender identity and timestamp, not only the dramatic sentence.

Payment ledger

Use the actual M-PESA record to test what a message claims happened.

Authority record

Store the page title, publisher and access date with the relevant extract.

Questions readers commonly need answered

Does appearing on a GRA list make every website using the name safe?

No. The exact domain and legal operator still need to match the dated register entry. A copied brand name, logo or licence image can sit on another channel.

Can this desk tell me which casino pays fastest?

No. The package contains no controlled payout tests or verified speed data. Publishing a speed table would invent evidence and create a gambling recommendation.

Should I post my full M-PESA message to prove the problem?

No. Keep the complete record privately, but redact phone numbers, transaction codes and unrelated details from anything public. A competent payment or reporting route may request the original securely.

Which route should I use first?

Start with the event: payment records go to the provider or bank; regulated gambling conduct goes to GRA; phishing or account compromise goes through current cyber channels. One incident may need separate reports.

Why are all operator names neutral?

Identity capture and a dated register match do not support a broad safety or wrongdoing verdict. The research package requires legal, factual and defamation review before any named profile.

When several problems arrive together

A cloned support number, disputed withdrawal and urgent reversal message may belong to one incident, but they still create separate evidence questions. First secure the account and verify the M-PESA ledger. Then preserve the suspicious channel for cyber reporting. Finally, check the operator identity and send any regulated-conduct concern to GRA. Keep a different reference for each route.

This order prevents a familiar operator name from becoming proof about the sender and prevents a payment status from becoming a legal verdict. It also keeps urgent account protection ahead of public storytelling. If facts later connect the records, the shared chronology will show that connection without guessing.

One final rule

Do not act from a search snippet when a live primary route exists. Open the official source, record its date and keep the result limited to what that source actually shows. A calm pause is useful evidence work.
